Living Bold

Is life just one big object lesson about who God is? Hmmm… for Mom, YES! She loves to see how God is working around her all the time. Even on the hard days when she cries a lot because of the pain of this world, and the days when she dances around the kitchen with a toddler in her arms – she can tell you where God is working around us. She decided to share some of those stories online – like she shares them with us all the time.

Everyday is an opportunity to show people how much Jesus loves them…through our words and deeds!!!

What does the Bible say about that?

Life has crazy questions — and it seems like everyday they keep getting crazier! There is a consistent place to go for answers – God’s Unchanging Word! We are watching the world and the church rock with the times. We need a rock to land on that won’t float away!

Over the years our family has spent time diving into God’s Word to find answers. We’ve put a few resources together that are free to use. Perhaps they will help you find answers in God’s Word too! Have more questions? — contact us. We’ll be happy to dive deep with you to see what the Bible says about that!

Feed the Wolf

There is a common story/illustration about capturing a wolf: you feed it what it wants in order to destroy it. We have found the culture/enemy has mastered this skill. But two can play at that game. Should we give our kids what they want that will destroy them, or give them what they need that will save them? We have found some resources to “feed” our family, not to destroy them – but instead strengthen and encourage them. Many people ask us how we manage to raise counter-cultural kids successfully. Simple — it’s what we feed them! A Bible they understand, media they enjoy, and entertainment that builds them up.

Here are some suggestions to get you started.

Pure Flix Entertainment – Perfect for Family friendly entertainment. We find something for every age…Veggie Tales, documentaries, super scary for my adventurers, to romantic comedies for the teen girls to so much more!!

Adventures In Odyssey, by Focus on the Family – No car trip is complete without an adventure to talk through. Mom even listens when she is alone. It helps to think through parenting!

KLove Radio – need to hear something encouraging as you are out and about or cleaning the house? Great nationwide radio!

Community Bible Study – This is where all of our children took their first faith steps. This international organization has fantastic bible based bible classes that ministry to all ages. Find a class near you to learn and have fantastic community!

Your Kids AREN’T homeschooled?!?!?

Though the pandemic confirmed my love of the idea of homeschooling my children, God gave us a different ministry to pursue – PUBLIC SCHOOL! We find every parent chooses the schooling choice for their child based on their parenting philosophy – How would God have you best lead your children into living IN the world but not OF the world? You may also have your kids in public school: either by choice or necessity. This too, is your Father in Heaven leading your parenting. Know that you aren’t alone! We (parents and kids alike) have been called before Principals, Superintendents and School Boards to respond to our commitment to follow Christ without compromise! Between having a bible study during lunch, not accepting teaching that as a Christian I am following the same God as Muslims, or creating and sacrificing to altars in class to celebrate other religious holidays… we have a wide variety of experience of speaking with respect and honor while publicly honoring our Creator and Lord!

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

James 1:2-5
